Most manufacturing websites describe the company in three sentences and stop. A design engineer needs the equipment list, the working envelope, the tolerance band and the material grades before spending twenty minutes preparing an RFQ. Without those, the engineer moves to the next supplier rather than calling to ask.
Specifications trapped in PDFs

How we structure a capabilities page
A capabilities page is a qualification tool, not a description, so we build it as four tables rather than prose: equipment with make, model and working envelope; tolerance capability by feature type rather than one headline number; materials by grade and form; and inspection capability with the metrology that backs it. Every row is HTML text under a caption, which is what lets the same content serve an engineer scanning on a tablet and a retrieval system assembling an answer. The single headline tolerance is the most common error we correct, because it is either a best case that misleads buyers into sending work the shop cannot hold, or a safe case that loses work the shop could have won.
What our RFQ form asks, and why
The form asks for company, what you manufacture, buyer type, scope, budget range, timeline, contact details and the part file, in that order. Company and process come before name and email because a buyer who abandons after three fields has still told the quoting team something worth following up, while a name and an email alone tell them nothing. Budget is a range rather than an open field, because an exact figure is a question most buyers cannot answer at this stage, and a required field nobody can answer is where forms are abandoned. Part files upload direct to storage rather than through the site, so a large assembly does not time out on a plant floor connection.
How specifications become extractable data
Every specification exists as HTML text in a table with a caption and scoped headers, never only inside a PDF or an image. That one decision is what makes the same content usable by three audiences at once: an engineer comparing two suppliers, a search engine building a result, and an assistant assembling a shortlist for a buyer who will never visit the site directly. PDFs stay available for the buyer who needs to attach one to a purchase requisition, but the PDF is a copy of the page rather than the only place the data lives.
